Police in Namibia’s Omusati Region have apprehended a 14-year-old boy in connection with the alleged rape of three minor boys. The arrest took place on Wednesday in Tsandi.
Omusati Police Commander Ismael Basson detailed the disturbing incident, stating that the young victims, aged between 7 and 8, were reportedly herding cattle when the suspect encountered them individually.
According to Basson, the suspect undressed and assaulted each boy.
The alarming crime came to light when a fourth boy, who witnessed parts of the incident, managed to escape and alert his parents. His parents promptly reported the matter to the authorities, leading to the swift arrest.
While the suspect is identified as an uncle to one of the victims, police have confirmed he does not reside with any of the boys involved. He has been charged and is expected to appear before the Okahao Magistrate’s Court on Friday to face the allegations.
