None of the independent candidates in Namibia have met the required criteria to participate in the upcoming presidential election. Candidates Ally Angula, Jeremia Kaambo, and Elsie Chen failed to secure the necessary number of voter endorsements to support their candidacy.
Further complications arose when the Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) discovered discrepancies between the signatures on the candidates' support lists and those recorded in the official voter register.

Yesterday, the ECN refused to register the candidates, citing their failure to meet legal requirements. The candidates were given a grace period until 11:00 AM today to comply, but none were able to do so. It is now confirmed that the November 27 presidential election will proceed without any independent candidates.
