Windhoek, Namibia, The U.S. Embassy Namibia has been awarded the prestigious ‘Best Government Building’ accolade in the Engineering News Record (ENR) Global Best Projects competition. The award highlights the embassy’s architectural excellence and innovation in construction, setting a new standard for government buildings worldwide.
This year’s competition attracted a record-breaking 120 entries from 19 countries, underscoring the global reach and significance of the award. The U.S. Embassy in Windhoek, designed by renowned architecture firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and constructed by B.L. Harbert International, stood out for its commitment to sustainability and its forward-thinking design.
The embassy’s achievement will be showcased in the December 16 issue of ENR, with an official award presentation scheduled for December 19 in a virtual ceremony, recognizing the team’s dedication to excellence in the built environment.
