In a daring daylight heist, four armed men ambushed a security team at a service station, targeting an armored vehicle prepared to transport cash to the bank. The robbers made off with a box containing N$266,525.90 and fled the scene in a silver Volkswagen Golf.

According to police reports, the getaway vehicle initially displayed a fake registration number, N9335GO, but investigators later identified its true number plate as N14148SH. Acting swiftly, law enforcement intercepted the car on the C22 road near the Du Plessis Plaas police station, where three suspects were apprehended.

Although no firearms were discovered in the vehicle, the suspects were found in possession of cash. During interrogation, the arrested individuals revealed the involvement of four additional suspects from Gobabis, who are now being sought by the police.

At present, the authorities have managed to recover N$70,640 of the stolen amount. Efforts are underway to trace the remaining funds and apprehend the other suspects.

The arrested individuals are expected to appear in court soon, as investigations continue into this audacious robbery.
