A 22-year-old man, Damian Haikera, narrowly escaped death after being attacked by a crocodile while bathing in a river at Kafuma Village on Wednesday.
According to Chief Inspector Raimbert Muronga, Haikera suffered a broken right arm and sustained bruises on his right foot and left arm during the attack. Fortunately, a passerby intervened and managed to rescue him from the reptile’s grip.
He was initially taken to Nankudu State Hospital for medical care but was later transferred to Rundu State Hospital for more advanced treatment.
Local authorities have since warned residents to be extra cautious near the river, as crocodile attacks continue to pose a danger in the region.
