NASA Threatens to Close Two Schools in Rundu

Rundu – The National African Students Association (NASA) has warned that it will shut down Jafet Haiyambo Senior Primary and Hompa Sofia Mundjembwe Kanyetu Junior Primary Schools if their toilet problems are not fixed soon.

Since last Thursday, learners at both schools have been sent home at 10:00 in the morning because the schools have no working toilets. This has affected their lessons and learning time.

“We were told yesterday that learners are going home early, which means there is no proper learning happening. We will talk about this, and if there is no solution, we will have no choice but to close the schools,” NASA President told New Era Newspaper.

Parents and community members are worried about the situation, saying that dirty and broken toilets can make children sick. They are now asking the government to fix the problem quickly so that learners can continue with their education.

The education ministry has not yet responded to the issue.
