Ncamagoro Village was the scene of a tragic incident early Wednesday morning when a 17-year-old boy, identified as Shinkanda Batista, was fatally stabbed while trying to prevent a group of individuals from entering a family party.
According to Deputy Commissioner Johannes Kudumo, the suspect was part of a group that arrived uninvited at a house hosting the event. Batista, acting on instructions from elders, attempted to stop the group from entering the premises. Despite his efforts, the group overpowered him and forced their way into the yard.
Tragically, as the last individual in the group entered, he pulled out an okapi knife and stabbed Batista multiple times.
The suspect, an 18-year-old male, has since been arrested and is in police custody. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
