Three German-Speaking Men Brutally Attack Namibian Man and Wife

Namibia police

A Namibian man and his wife was brutally attacked by three unidentified men outside a nightclub in Swakopmund’s industrial area early on Friday, 4 January.

The couple, along with a male friend, were leaving the nightclub around 02:00 when the men, reportedly German-speaking, began assaulting the wife. They punched and kicked her until she fell to the ground. When the husband and their friend tried to intervene, the attackers turned on them.

In an effort to stop the assault, the husband retrieved his pistol from their car and fired two shots into the air.

“Efforts to fight back allegedly went in vain and they continued assaulting his wife. He managed to run to his vehicle and grabbed his pistol, and fired two shots in the air,” the Nampol report states.

The attackers then fled in a vehicle, but its registration number is unknown.

The wife and the friend were taken to Cottage Private Hospital, where they were treated and are now in stable condition.

No arrests have been made, and police are continuing their investigation.
