Authorities in Katima Mulilo, Zambezi Region, are investigating the death of a 47-year-old man whose body was found on Wednesday morning near a bushy area close to a local hotel.
The deceased has been identified as Nelson Siyayo. According to the Namibian Police, the body was discovered by two men who were passing through the area. Upon arrival at the scene, officers noticed distinct hippo tracks surrounding the location, raising strong suspicion that the injuries were the result of a hippo attack.

Siyayo’s body reportedly sustained severe wounds across multiple areas, consistent with an encounter with a wild animal. The remains have been transported to the Katima Mulilo Mortuary for an autopsy to confirm the exact cause of death.
Investigations are ongoing.
