A 58-year-old woman, identified as Juliane Indongo, has reportedly died by suicide at Oshetu No. 1 in Okahandja, Otjozondjupa Region, on Sunday morning.
According to a police report, the incident occurred around 09h00 when Indongo’s body was found hanging from a beam inside her home, with a rope around her neck.
Otjozondjupa police regional spokesperson, Senior Inspector Maureen Mbeha, said the discovery was made by a family member who went to check on Indongo after noticing she had not been outside and her house remained locked since morning.
Police have opened an investigation to establish the circumstances leading to her death.
