Peter Shalulile Can Still Make It in Europe, Says former Sundowns

Peter Shalulile, Mamelodi Sundowns

Former Cameroon international and Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Roger Feutmba has expressed confidence that Namibian star Peter Shalulile still has what it takes to succeed in European football. Feutmba compared Peter Shalulile to Zimbabwean midfielder Marshall Munetsi, who is currently excelling in France with Stade de Reims, and believes the Sundowns striker could follow a similar path.

Speaking about Peter Shalulile’s career trajectory, Feutmba admitted he was puzzled as to why the prolific forward did not move overseas earlier. “I don’t understand why Peter Shalulile didn’t go overseas a few years ago. I believe it was his personal choice,” Feutmba said.

Despite this, the former Sundowns player remains convinced that Shalulile is still capable of playing at the highest level in Europe. “Even now, Peter Shalulile can play in the English Premier League,” Feutmba confidently stated.

Shalulile, whose contract with Mamelodi Sundowns expires in June, remains one of the most consistent and lethal strikers in the Premier Soccer League (PSL). However, his next move remains uncertain, with speculation growing about whether he will extend his stay in South Africa or seek a new challenge abroad.

Feutmba emphasized that Shalulile possesses similar attributes to Munetsi, including work ethic, physicality, and tactical intelligence, qualities that have allowed the Zimbabwean to flourish in Europe. “Peter Shalulile has the same qualities as Munetsi, which can make him succeed in Europe,” he added.

With the transfer window approaching and Shalulile’s contract nearing its end, all eyes will be on the Namibian forward to see whether he finally takes the leap to European football or remains a dominant force in South Africa’s PSL.
