Million Swindled from Woman’s FNB Account in Omusati


Police report

A 60-year-old woman from Uukwamatsi village in the Okahao constituency has fallen victim to a fraudulent scheme, with N$1.1 million swindled from her FNB account.

Omusati Police Regional Commander, Commissioner Ismael Basson, confirmed that preliminary investigations show the suspect gained unauthorized access to the woman’s account. Between January 15 and 17, several financial transfers were made to different accounts within the same bank.

The police have not yet determined how the suspect managed to access the woman’s account.

Currently, the suspect remains unknown, and the police are continuing their investigation into the incident. Authorities are urging the public to remain vigilant against similar scams and report any suspicious activities to the authorities.
