NBC Employees Undergo Body Search Following Amushelelo’s Visit

NBC employees get searched

Employees of the Namibia Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) are undergoing strict security measures, including body searches and vehicle inspections, following a controversial visit by activist Michael Amushelelo earlier this week.

Sources report that tensions are high at the broadcaster’s head office, with long queues forming as employees express frustration over the heightened security protocols. “There is a long queue, and the employees are really irritated,” one source revealed.

The increased security comes after Amushelelo allegedly claimed he has supporters within NBC who are ready to petrol-bomb the corporation’s premises. The activist’s remarks have sparked concerns for safety, prompting management to take precautionary steps.

Amushelelo visited NBC to inquire about the suspension of employee Anna Nicodemus, who was reportedly disciplined after participating in a televised discussion addressing the health and age of an elected president. During his visit, Amushelelo had a heated exchange with police officers stationed at the premises.
NBC has yet to release an official statement on the matter, but the incident has drawn public attention, reigniting debates about freedom of expression and workplace security.
The situation remains under scrutiny, with both employees and stakeholders calling for calm and a resolution to the tensions at the broadcaster.
