Namibian rapper and songwriter Latoya Lucile Mwoombola, known by her stage name Lioness, has announced her first-ever national music tour. The tour, which begins on 24 May, will promote her third studio album, If Not in This Life.

Lioness will perform in Walvis Bay, Ongwediva, Rundu, and Windhoek, at venues including Katz Lounge, Truth Entertainment, Am Ludgerus Boutique, and The Loft, respectively.

If Not in This Life, released in October 2024, marked Lioness’s bold return to the music scene, featuring a unique and experimental sound. The 13-track album includes collaborations with popular artists such as Gazza, Willy G, Skrypt, Cleo Ice Queen, Kaladoshas, Azmo Nawe, Page (Ethnix), Earthtonami, and Mel.

In addition to her music, Lioness is a full-time medical doctor. She earned her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Namibia in 2018 and currently works at a state hospital.

Lioness has also achieved major success online. Her latest music video became the most viewed Namibian video on YouTube, reaching one million views in under 10 days. She recently finished second in Bank Windhoek’s “Sake of Love” song challenge, just behind PDK.

She also announced that this tour will be her last in the music industry.
“The reason for retiring from music is very personal. I took some time off to reflect. Sometimes you need to step away and find clarity, that’s exactly what I did,” she said.

Speaking about the tour, Lioness confirmed that it is fully self-funded and that she has not yet confirmed which artists will perform alongside her in each town. However, she invited local artists to show up and be part of the experience.
