Kamatuka Returns to African Stars After South African Spell

Kamatuka Returns to African Stars After South African Spell

African Stars FC have strengthened their squad with the return of 23-year-old attacking midfielder Edmar Kamatuka, who rejoins the Reds after a season in South Africa with Hungry Lions FC.

The young playmaker spent the past campaign competing in the Motsepe Foundation Championship, South Africa’s second-tier league, where he gained valuable experience against some of the country’s most competitive sides. His move back to Namibia is seen as a boost for Stars, who are aiming to build on their recent performances in the Namibian Premier Football League (NPFL).

Kamatuka is no stranger to the domestic football scene, having previously turned out for UNAM FC and Ramblers, before first joining African Stars. Known for his creativity, pace, and ability to unlock defenses, his return is expected to inject attacking depth and versatility into the squad.

Club officials expressed excitement over his comeback, noting that the midfielder’s development in South Africa will play a key role in Stars’ pursuit another silverware this season following the departure of Willow Stefanus.

For Kamatuka, the move represents not only a homecoming but also an opportunity to re-establish himself as one of Namibia’s promising young talents. Supporters of the Katutura-based side will be eager to see how quickly he settles back into the team and what impact he can make in the battles ahead.
