A 23-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl causing her to become pregnant at Sigone Village in the Kavango West region.

Chief Inspector Raimbert Muronga of the Kavango West police confirmed the incident, reportedly in August last year. He said that the victim had allegedly been threatened with a sharp object, and that “she was allegedly forced into sexual activity against her will and is now pregnant as a result.

She missed her period in September 2024. A pregnancy test conducted at a hospital on 27 January 2025, confirmed the pregnancy, and she has since been referred to social services for further support,” Muronga said.
