Ncaute, Kavango West, A 32-year-old police officer stationed at Ncaute Police Station has been arrested for allegedly raping a female inmate on two separate occasions.
According to reports, the incidents happened on Wednesday, 22 January 2025, at around 16:00, and again on Thursday, 23 January 2025, at about 06:00. Both incidents reportedly took place inside the station’s holding cells while the officer was on duty.
The victim, a 22-year-old woman in police custody, claims the officer forced himself on her without consent.
Authorities arrested the suspect on Monday, and he is expected to appear in the Rundu Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, 30 January 2025.
Meanwhile, the victim remains in police custody as investigations continue under the Combating of Rape Act, Act 8 of 2000.
