A tragic incident unfolded in Tsumeb on Friday night when a 46-year-old man was fatally shot by a security guard.
The Namibian Police Force has confirmed the death, which occurred around 9:00 PM on 9th Road.Police spokesperson Kauna Shikwambi reported that the victim sustained a severe chest wound and an injury to the back of his head from a shotgun blast.
Preliminary information suggests the shooting occurred as the man was allegedly attempting to recover items stolen during a prior break-in at the premises.
The security guard, who was on duty at the time, reportedly discharged his weapon when the deceased and two other individuals returned to the site, presumably to retrieve property left behind. The two accomplices fled the scene following the shooting.
