African Stars F.C., popularly known as the Samba Boys, are off to an impressive start in the Namibia Premier League, putting themselves on course to match the historic four consecutive championships previously achieved by Black Africa S.C.
The Windhoek-based team has collected maximum points in their opening matches, securing victories over Khomas Nampol, Julinho Athletic, and Rundu Chief. These early wins have placed the defending champions firmly at the top of the league, setting a strong tone for the season.
Despite missing out on re-signing one of their all-time top scorers, Awillo Stephanus, African Stars have adapted seamlessly. Forwards Mbakondja Tjahikika and Rikambura Muundjua have stepped up, each finding the net twice so far, with Tjahikika’s goals coming from the penalty spot.
With their strong start, African Stars are demonstrating that they are serious contenders to not only defend their title but also etch their name alongside the elite teams in Namibian football history by potentially securing four consecutive league championships.
