The Brave Warriors World Cup Campaign Committee has cancelled the scheduled fundraising encounter between African Stars FC and Chula Chula FC, citing a lack of sponsorship support.

Although the match was set for this Sunday, organizers said they were unable to proceed as no sponsors came forward to cover the costs, despite earlier hopes that one or two partners would assist.

In a statement, the Committee thanked both clubs for agreeing to take part and apologized to fans and players who had been anticipating the derby.

Supporters are reminded that the “Win a Car” promotion is still ongoing until 31 August 2025. By texting Brave Warriors to 106 at N$3 per message, participants stand a chance to win a Toyota Xs valued at N$300,000.

Meanwhile, focus now shifts to the Brave Warriors’ World Cup qualifiers in Francistown, Botswana, where they face Malawi on 5 September before taking on São Tomé and Príncipe on 9 September.

Despite the setback, the Committee said it remains confident that Namibia can secure qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup and urged Namibians to continue rallying behind the team.
