
An 18-year-old man has been arrested by the police in the Erongo Region following the tragic deaths of six people at Hakhaseb location in Usakos.
The incident happened in the early hours of Saturday morning. It is believed that the suspect went into a room where the victims were sleeping and attacked them with an iron axe and a knobkierie, hitting them several times. After the attack, he allegedly set their bodies on fire. The victims suffered serious burns, ranging from first to second degree.

According to Chief Inspector Iileni Shapumba, the suspect also injured both of his feet and is currently receiving treatment at the Usakos State Hospital. Police found an axe at the scene, which they believe was used in the attack.
The suspect is also facing a charge for trying to hide the crime by burning the bodies. The reason behind this terrible act is still unknown, and investigations are ongoing.
