Authorities in Nkurenkuru are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man whose body was found floating in the Kavango River on Monday morning.
According to Kavango West Chief Inspector Raimbert Muronga, the remains were discovered at approximately 08:30 by a passerby who alerted the police. The deceased has since been identified as 54-year-old Kakuru Abisai Kamina from Gava village.
Kamina had been reported missing since 30 August, shortly after being admitted to Nkurenkuru Elcin Hospital. At this stage, the cause of death remains undetermined, and a post-mortem examination will be conducted at the Nkurenkuru police mortuary.
Police confirmed that the family has been notified, and investigations are ongoing.
