A near-tragic incident unfolded at Angel Pre-School in the Evululuko location of Oshakati East when a car wash attendant lost control of a vehicle and drove through a classroom wall.

The incident occurred during school hours when pupils were attending lessons. According to eyewitnesses, the attendant was washing the car when, under unclear circumstances, he drove it into the building, breaching the classroom wall and sending shockwaves through the school community.

Two teachers and 22 young pupils were in the classroom at the time. One of the teachers sustained minor head injuries, while the other teacher and all the pupils miraculously escaped unharmed.

Eyewitnesses described the moment of impact as terrifying, with debris from the wall scattering across the room. The teacher who suffered injuries was rushed to a local healthcare facility for treatment and is reportedly in stable condition.

Parents and community members have expressed concern over safety standards at the car wash and the school. “It’s a miracle no one was seriously injured,” one parent remarked, calling for stricter safety measures in the area.

Authorities are investigating the circumstances that led to the accident, including whether the car wash attendant was licensed to operate the vehicle. Calls for better safety protocols at car wash facilities and schools have grown louder in the aftermath of the incident.

Angel Pre-School has temporarily relocated classes while repairs to the damaged building are underway. The Oshana Region education authorities have assured parents that measures will be taken to prevent a recurrence of such incidents.

As the investigation continues, many are left counting their blessings, reflecting on how a potentially devastating tragedy was narrowly averted.
