
The City of Windhoek has announced that several streets and one facility across the capital will officially be renamed effective Friday, 24 October 2025, in line with recent council resolutions.
According to the City, the initiative is part of ongoing efforts to recognise and honour distinguished Namibians who have made outstanding contributions to the country’s social, cultural, and developmental heritage.
The approved name changes are as follows:

Residents, businesses, and service providers are encouraged to update their records, correspondence, and signage to reflect the new names once physical replacements of street signs are implemented.
