AS FAR
Founded in 1958, just three years after Morocco gained independence, AS FAR is widely regarded as one of the most prestigious and historically significant football clubs in the country. From its inception, the club has traditionally worn a black home kit and has built a strong identity rooted in success, discipline, and national pride.
AS FAR plays its home matches at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, a venue with a capacity of around 69,500 spectators, where it has hosted its games since 1983. The club is also among the most popular and widely supported teams in Morocco and enjoys a strong following across Africa.
AS FAR is one of the founding members of the Botola Pro league and, alongside Wydad AC and Raja CA, has never been relegated from the top division since its establishment. This consistency has helped shape some of the fiercest rivalries in Moroccan football, most notably the Moroccan Clasico against Wydad AC, the rivalry with Raja CA, and the Capital Derby against FUS Rabat.
On the continental stage, AS FAR has also made its mark. It became the first Moroccan club to win the CAF Champions League in 1985 and later added the CAF Confederation Cup in 2005. The club is also among the most decorated in Morocco, boasting a total of 31 major trophies, including 13 Botola titles, 12 Moroccan Throne Cups, 4 Moroccan Super Cups, along with its continental honours.
During the first decade of the 21st century (2001–2010), AS FAR was ranked highly in international club standings, reflecting its consistent performance both locally and continentally.
