Residents of Omuntele village have been left in shock after a young security guard was shot dead at Eno Market over the weekend.
The victim, 19-year-old Teofelus Lukas, was found with a gunshot wound to his right eye during the early hours of Saturday. Police say the incident took place around 01:22 AM. Co-workers nearby heard the gunshot and ran to the scene, where Lukas was already dead.
An Angolan man, who also worked for the same security company but was off duty at the time, has been arrested in connection with the shooting. His age has not been confirmed.
The motive for the incident is still unknown. Police are continuing their investigation to find out what led to the tragic event.
Authorities are calling on anyone with more information to come forward.
