Dangote Petroleum Refinery is preparing to develop a major fuel storage facility in Namibia, boasting a capacity of approximately 1.6 million barrels for gasoline and diesel. This project marks a key step in the company’s plan to expand its reach beyond Nigeria and solidify its presence across Southern Africa.
The new storage site aims to guarantee a stable supply of refined petroleum products not only for Namibia but also for neighboring countries including Botswana, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. By introducing a dependable source of fuel, Dangote’s investment could significantly impact regional energy distribution and trade dynamics, helping to meet the increasing fuel demand across the area.
Launched last year with an investment of $20 billion, the Dangote Refinery currently processes up to 650,000 barrels daily. This latest development in Namibia highlights Dangote’s drive to establish itself as a dominant player in Africa’s energy sector.
