Former Brazilian footballer Dani Alves has started a new life as an evangelical preacher in a church in Girona, Spain. This comes after he spent 14 months in prison and was later cleared of sexual assault charges in 2024.
In his first sermon, Alves said, “You have to have faith in God. I am proof of that. I made a pact with God.”
The case was widely followed because it was one of the first big trials under Spain’s 2022 sexual consent law. Even though Alves was acquitted, prosecutors are appealing the decision.

Now, Alves is focusing on his faith and his work as a preacher, starting a new chapter in his life.
