A week-long search for a missing man ended in tragedy after the decomposed body of 40-year-old Marius Jackson Ndjamba, an Angolan national, was discovered on Wednesday afternoon in the bush near Katjinakatji Village.
Kavango West Regional Chief Inspector Raimbert Muronga confirmed the discovery, noting that Ndjamba had been reported missing by his family several days earlier. His remains were found during a community-led search involving residents of the area.
“The body was discovered in an advanced state of decomposition,” said Muronga. “The circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear at this stage, and investigations are ongoing.”
Ndjamba’s body has been transported to the Rundu State Mortuary for a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death. Authorities have assured the public that all necessary steps are being taken to uncover the facts surrounding the incident.
Police have informed the next of kin, and community members are being urged to come forward with any information that might assist the investigation.
This is a developing story.
