Dee Nuyoma is back to SWAPO

Dee Nuyoma is back to SWAPO

Windhoek, in a significant political development, Dimbulukeni Nauyoma, one of the founding members of the Affirmative Repositioning (AR) movement, is set to be introduced today as the latest high-profile returnee to SWAPO. Nauyoma, who co-founded AR alongside current president Job Amupanda and two others, originally left SWAPO to establish the youth-centered political and activist group.

Sources close to Nauyoma suggest that his return to SWAPO has been in the works for several months. Attempts to get an official comment from Nauyoma have been unsuccessful. However, a draft of the programme for SWAPO’s star rally, taking place today in Windhoek, indicates that the announcement will be made during the event.

The timing of this revelation is particularly critical, as Namibia is just three days away from electing its fifth president. Nauyoma’s return could potentially influence SWAPO’s campaign momentum during this decisive period.

The AR movement, which has been vocal on issues such as land reform and youth empowerment, has established itself as a formidable force in Namibian politics.

All eyes will be on today’s rally as SWAPO seeks to bolster its ranks and energize its base ahead of the elections.
