The newly appointed Minister of Health and Social Services, Hon. Dr. Esperance Luvindao, made her first public appearance with a surprise visit to Katutura Health Centre at 07:00 this morning.
Dr. Luvindao’s visit aimed to see the real situation at the health facility and hear directly from patients and healthcare workers. Many patients raised concerns about long waiting times, delays in test results, and the urgent need for better medical care. Healthcare workers also spoke about the challenges they face, including high patient numbers and limited resources.
The Minister acknowledged these difficulties and stressed the importance of working together to improve healthcare services. She promised that her office will take these concerns seriously and work with the right departments to find solutions.
Meanwhile, the government has allocated N$12.3 billion to improve services in the country. The Minister of Finance announced this today, stating that the funds will be used to address key national priorities.
