The Ministry of Education, Arts and Culture has confirmed that all schools across the country will close on 26 November 2025 to allow teachers and education staff to take part in the Local Authority elections.
In a statement, the Ministry called on Regional Directors, Inspectors, principals, school boards, parents, and stakeholders to take note of the official school calendar adjustment. It emphasized that only 26 November will be observed as a school holiday, while hostels will continue to operate normally on the day of the election.
According to the revised schedule, learners will conclude their school year on 5 December 2025, while teachers, hostel staff, and institutional workers will wrap up duties on 9 December 2025, by which time school reports must be distributed.
The Ministry urged all education institutions to plan accordingly to ensure a smooth and organized conclusion to the academic year.
