The Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) has acknowledged a technical mistake in the nomination declaration for the Nkurenkuru Constituency ahead of the 2025 Regional Council Elections.
According to the Commission, the system prematurely listed Swapo Party’s Tenga Filipus Ndara as the duly elected candidate, despite another valid nomination having been successfully submitted through the Political Parties and Candidates Nomination Portal (PPCM).
ECN explained that the declaration was made in error and confirmed that urgent measures are being taken to correct the issue to ensure fairness and transparency in the electoral process.
The Commission further assured that both political stakeholders and the public will be updated as the rectification process unfolds.
