During his appearance in the Ondangwa Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, Eliakim Taapopi Shiimi (40), accused of fatally stabbing his girlfriend, Martha Aron (35), on 22 September 2024 in Oshifaniso, expressed profound regret for his actions. He conveyed a sincere apology to the victim’s relatives, acknowledging the pain and loss his actions have caused.

The court postponed Shiimi’s bail hearing to Wednesday to allow the prosecution, led by Justine Shiweda, to complete cross-examination.

Shiimi requested bail during the proceedings, noting that he is the primary provider for his two children, mother, and nieces. He offered N$2,000 for bail, with support from family members.
