In a recent announcement, the Ministry of Education, Arts, and Culture revealed that 89% of candidates who sat for the 2024 Namibia Senior Secondary Certificate Ordinary (NSSCO) level exams successfully attained graded results. This reflects a modest yet notable improvement from the 88% pass rate achieved in 2023.

Leading the performance charts at the NSSCO level are Rukonga Vision School in Kavango East, Onawa Senior Secondary School, and Ruacana Vocational Senior Secondary School in the Omusati Region. These schools have continued to uphold high academic standards, driving national progress in education outcomes.

Similarly, the Advanced Subsidiary (AS) Level results have shown positive growth, with the pass rate climbing to 88.1% in 2024 from 85.2% the previous year. The top-performing institutions at this level are Rukonga Vision School, Onawa Secondary School in Omusati, and Okatana Senior Secondary School located in the Oshana Region.

Minister of Education, Arts, and Culture, Anna Nghipondoka, praised the relentless efforts of students and teachers alike. She emphasized that the examinations adhered to all set standards and protocols. Additionally, she noted that Cambridge University Press and Assessment has endorsed the exams as credible and internationally aligned.

This upward trend in academic achievement underscores the Ministry’s commitment to advancing education in Namibia, signaling a bright path ahead for the country’s learners.
