A 39-year-old man is currently facing severe charges in the Outapi Magistrate’s Court following his arrest on allegations of rape and incest. The suspect is accused of raping and impregnating his 16-year-old daughter, according to a statement released today by Omusati Regional Commander Ismael Basson.

The background of this case involves a previous conviction for a sexual offense. The 16-year-old victim was reportedly born from an incident in 2008, where the same man had been convicted for raping and impregnating a 14-year-old girl. Commander Basson confirmed that the suspect received a sentence of a N$3,000 fine or three years’ imprisonment for the 2008 offense.

The new allegations present a deeply troubling continuation of criminal behavior. The man’s current case is scheduled to return to court on March 16, 2026.
