Authorities in Oshikoto Region are investigating a tragic case in which two young children lost their lives in Onkani village, Onakazizi area killed by their father.

The victims have been identified as 4-year-old Rosalia Sheya and 2-year-old Andreas Sheya. Preliminary investigations indicate that their biological father, a 32-year-old man, had returned from Windhoek on Friday with the children. On Sunday afternoon, he reportedly took them out, claiming he was escorting them to a nearby gravel road.

The case came to light after the suspect sent messages to family members and the children’s mother, confessing to the killings and revealing that their bodies were left near the Nameya water point.

The suspect initially fled the scene but later turned himself in to police at Okatope this morning, where he was arrested. Authorities have confirmed that investigations into the case are ongoing.
