FC Alverca Returns to Portugal’s Top League with a Big Boost from Vinícius Júnior – The Updated World

After years of hard work and determination, FC Alverca has finally made it back to the Primeira Liga – Portugal’s top football division. This success story is even more exciting because it comes just months after Brazilian football star Vinícius Júnior became the club’s new owner.

A Dream Come True for Alverca

Alverca is a club with a long history. It was founded in 1939 and once played in the top league from 1998 to 2004. But after facing money problems, the team was shut down in 2005. Luckily, the club was brought back later and started from the bottom again.

Slowly, Alverca climbed back up the ranks. In 2023–24, they won Liga 3 and were promoted to Liga Portugal 2. Now, after just one season, they have done it again – earning a well-deserved spot in the Primeira Liga for the 2025–26 season. This is their first time back in the top flight in over 20 years.

Vinícius Júnior Steps In

In early 2025, Real Madrid and Brazil star Vinícius Júnior bought a majority share of FC Alverca. He worked with a group of Brazilian and Spanish investors and spent around €8 to €10 million to take control of the club.

But this wasn’t just a business move. Vinícius said he wants to help young football players and grow the club into something special. He sees Alverca as a place where future stars can develop, and he’s already started working on improving the club’s training and planning.

Success on the Field

Under their coach Vasco Botelho da Costa, Alverca played great football this season. One of their best games was a 5–0 win over Marítimo, which showed just how strong and ready they are for top-level football. With strong performances at their home ground and a united squad, Alverca finished second in Liga Portugal 2 and earned automatic promotion.

Now that they’re back in the Primeira Liga, Alverca is getting ready for bigger challenges. With support from Vinícius Júnior and his team, the club plans to bring in new players, improve their academy, and build a strong name in Portuguese football once again.

This is just the beginning of a new chapter. Alverca has already shown that with the right support and belief, anything is possible. Fans can now look forward to exciting games, new talents, and a team that’s ready to fight with the best in the country.
