
Former Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security, Daniel Kashikola, was seriously injured in a head-on collision on the B10 highway near Satotwa village, outside Rundu, on Saturday morning.
Kashikola, who was traveling with his 21-year-old son to attend the recognition celebration of Hompa Eugene Kudumo, was involved in a crash with a Ford Ranger that reportedly attempted to overtake another vehicle.
According to a police report obtained by this publication, Kashikola sustained a fractured leg and suspected internal bleeding. He was admitted to Rundu State Hospital for medical treatment.
Meanwhile, his son and the other driver escaped with minor injuries.
The Namibian Police confirmed the incident, stating that investigations into the circumstances surrounding the accident are ongoing. No arrests have been made at this stage.
