The Namibian Police in the Zambezi Region have successfully recaptured the last four of seven inmates who recently escaped from custody, bringing an end to an intensive manhunt.
Chief Inspector Kisco Sitali, the regional police spokesperson, confirmed that the four trial-awaiting prisoners were arrested on Saturday while traveling in a taxi from Libula village to Katima Mulilo. The arrest took place at the intersection of Brendan Simbwaye and Ngoma road.
The group had escaped from the Ngoma Police Holding Cells on Sunday night last week, prompting a region-wide search operation. With the latest arrests, all seven escapees are now back in custody.
