
Tragedy struck the Sikanduko community after the lifeless body of a Grade 9 learner from Sikanduko Combined School was discovered near the local water stream following several days of being reported missing.
According to information gathered by The Updated World, the deceased, identified as a teenage boy from Sikanduko, had reportedly gone missing after visiting a nearby garden with a friend. It is alleged that the two boys went to the garden with the intention of stealing sugarcane. However, the owner of the garden appeared unexpectedly, prompting the boys to flee in different directions.
The deceased reportedly ran toward the stream, while his friend escaped to a safer area and went home. Initially, when questioned about his friend’s whereabouts, the surviving boy allegedly lied, claiming that he had left him with someone else. However, after further questioning, he confessed to what had transpired.
A search party was immediately organized, and after combing through the area near the stream, the missing boy’s body was discovered near the water. His remains were later retrieved and transported to the local mortuary for further investigations.
The community has been left shocked and saddened by the tragic incident, as authorities continue their investigations to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the boy’s death.
