Hilka Park Residents Demand Action Over Poor Living Conditions – The Updated World

Frustrated homeowners in Hilka Park, a residential area in Rundu, have raised serious concerns over the deteriorating living conditions in their neighborhood, pointing fingers at Armstrong Properties and the Rundu Town Council for failing to provide basic services.

Residents complain of a long list of unresolved issues, including unpaved roads, poorly constructed houses, frequent electricity outages, leaking sewer systems, and a complete lack of proper drainage. According to them, these problems have made daily life extremely difficult and are calling for immediate intervention.

In a formal petition, the affected homeowners addressed their grievances to Armstrong Properties, the developers of the area, Bank Windhoek, the Rundu Town Council, and the office of the Kavango East Governor.

Frans Kandjilu, the spokesperson for the group, expressed disappointment over what he described as substandard housing, incomplete infrastructure, and malfunctioning basic utilities. He also accused the responsible entities of consistently ignoring defect reports and residents’ repeated pleas for assistance.

“We are tired of being ignored. We paid for homes, not for problems,” said Kandjilu.
