The Rundu Intermediate Hospital officially received medical equipment worth N$8.5 million during a handover ceremony held today in Rundu. The equipment, which was donated by the International University of Management (IUM) on 22 October 2025, is expected to significantly enhance healthcare delivery in the Kavango East Region.
The donation package includes advanced incubators, ventilators, surgical instruments, and patient monitors, essential tools that will help reduce referrals to Windhoek for specialised medical care.
Representing IUM founder and chairperson, Prof. David Namwandi, Research Professor and Coordinator at IUM, Prof. Peter Nyarango, led the handover. He emphasised that the initiative reflects IUM’s continued commitment to community development and supporting Namibia’s healthcare sector.
Health officials at Rundu Intermediate Hospital expressed gratitude for the donation, saying it will strengthen their capacity to handle critical cases and improve patient outcomes in the region.
