Getafe defender Juan Iglesias has shed light on his on-field confrontation with Real Madrid star Vinícius Jr. during their tense La Liga encounter, which ended 1–0 in favor of Madrid.

The Brazilian winger entered the match as a substitute in the 55th minute and quickly became the center of attention, both for his impact on the game and his fiery interactions with opponents. His presence appeared to unsettle Getafe’s defense, leading to successive incidents that saw Allan Nyom and Sancris sent off.

One of the most notable confrontations came when Iglesias, tasked with marking Vinícius, shouted in frustration: “That’s why everyone hates you, learn from your teammates!” The exchange was caught on Movistar+ cameras, before Kylian Mbappé intervened to calm the situation and pull Vinícius away.

Speaking to Movistar+ after the match, Iglesias reflected on the incident:

“Football is full of tension and small disputes; they’re part of the game and usually end when the whistle blows. But there are limits that must not be crossed. Respect for opponents and fans is essential, without it, these situations can escalate, and no one benefits from that.”

Despite the heated moments, Vinícius played a crucial role in maintaining pressure on Getafe with his trademark pace and dribbling, contributing to Real Madrid’s narrow victory.
