Windhoek Magistrate Olga Muharukua is expected to deliver judgment in the bail application of Cedric Willemse, one of the accused in the high-profile NAMCOR multi-million-dollar corruption case.
Willemse becomes the seventh suspect to seek bail in the ongoing matter, which has drawn significant public attention.
Earlier this month, Magistrate Linus Samunzala refused bail for six of the other accused — among them former NAMCOR Managing Director Immanuel Mulunga, as well as Jennifer Hamukwaya Peter, Malakia Elindi, Olivia Dunaiski, and Leo Nandago.
The accused face allegations linked to the misappropriation of funds at the National Petroleum Corporation of Namibia (NAMCOR). Further details regarding Willemse’s application and the court’s ruling are expected to be revealed once Magistrate Muharukua delivers her decision.
