A five-year-old girl who went missing has been found dead under a bridge in Veddersdal, Okahandja. Police now say the case is not just about someone going missing – the child was badly hurt and killed.
Ingrid Maasdorp was last seen on Thursday, 22 March, at K.W. Von Marees Combined School. When she didn’t come home, her family reported her missing. Sadly, her body was found the next day under a bridge.
At first, police thought it was only a missing child case. But after a doctor checked her body, things changed.
“The doctor found that the child was raped, choked, and thrown into water,” said Deputy Commissioner Kauna Shikwambi, who speaks for the police.
“Now we are looking into a very serious case. People who might have done this are being looked for, and the police are working hard on it.”
The police are still investigating everything and have asked anyone who knows something to speak up.
