A man who tipped off police about a woman allegedly dealing drugs in Ongwediva is now facing criminal charges after authorities discovered the report was part of a scheme to frame his former girlfriend.
Police said the ex-boyfriend hired two accomplices: one to purchase cannabis and another to deliver it to the woman, pretending it belonged to her and her current partner. The parcel contained 45 grams of cannabis valued at N$2,250 and 40 “Yes” cigarettes worth N$80.
“The ex-boyfriend even drove the accomplices to the delivery location to ensure the plan was carried out,” a police spokesperson confirmed.
In a related case, investigators also apprehended a suspected drug dealer in a village near Ondangwa. He was found in possession of 10 grams of cannabis valued at N$500 and 11 “Yes” cigarettes worth N$22.
All individuals involved have been arrested, and further investigations are ongoing.
