A 29-year-old man was arrested on Sunday after he allegedly raped his 27-year-old ex-girlfriend, who is also the mother of his two children, in an abandoned house behind the Catholic Church in Orwetoveni, Otjiwarongo.
According to the Namibian Police, the incident happened during the early hours of 9 November 2025. The suspect reportedly forced the woman into the deserted building, where the assault took place.
Police investigations further revealed that the couple had been separated for about a year prior to the incident. The suspect was arrested shortly afterward and remains in police custody.
Authorities have confirmed that investigations are ongoing, and the victim is receiving the necessary support and assistance.
Police have urged the public to report any incidents of gender-based violence and to seek help through available support services.
