A 56-year-old man who was reported missing on Monday has been found dead in Ncamagoro village, Kavango West Region.
The deceased, identified as Like Faranga, had gone inland with his wife to cut wooden poles and grass. According to preliminary reports, the two became separated during the activity. When Faranga failed to return home, a search operation was launched involving local police and members of the community.
His body was discovered around 11:00 today. Initial findings suggest that he may have accidentally injured his right leg with an axe while cutting poles, resulting in severe bleeding that is believed to have caused his death.
Police say no foul play is suspected at this stage, and the scene investigation supports this assessment. The deceased’s next of kin has been notified, and further investigations are ongoing.
