A couple from Nkoro village in the Katwitwi area, Kavango West, was seriously injured after a crocodile attack on Saturday night.
Theresia Kayiwa (30) was fishing in the river around 9 PM when a crocodile grabbed her and tried to drag her into the water. She screamed for help, and her husband, Martin Kambimba, immediately jumped in to fight off the reptile.
“I was in the water checking my fishing cage when the crocodile grabbed me. It started pulling me deeper, and I screamed for my husband. He rushed in and fought it twice before he could free me,” Kayiwa said from her hospital bed at Rundu Hospital, where she is in critical condition.

She suffered severe injuries on her right arm, thigh, and leg, while Kambimba was wounded on his head and neck.
Chief Inspector Raimbert Muronga said the police and the Ministry of Environment, Forestry, and Tourism have been informed and are monitoring the situation.
